The earliest ancestor found to date in this line is named in Portrait and Biographical Album of Barry and Eaton Counties, Mich., Containing Full Page Portraits and Biographical Sketches of Prominent and Representative Citizens of the County, Together with Portraits and Biographies of All the Presidents of the United States and Governors of the State (Chicago: Chapman Bros., 1891), 798. This is obviously just a starting point, and the name of Abigail’s father could well prove to be incorrect.
