This family entered the printed literature with William Barry, A History of Framingham, Massachusetts, Including the Plantation, from 1640 to the Present Time (Boston: James Munroe and Company, 1847), 450, 451. Barry takes some care to distinguish Edward Wright of Concord from his namesake at Sudbury; Charles Henry Pope, The Pioneers of Massachusetts: A Descriptive List, Drawn from Records of the Colonies, Towns, and Churches and Other Contemporaneous Documents (Boston, 1900), 516, combines them. Donald Lines Jacobus, The Bulkeley Genealogy (New Haven, Conn., 1933), 26-8, gives the family a very brief summary based on research by Clarence Almon Torrey. The documentary basis, however, is greatly clarified by Joy F. (Hartwell) Peach, Who Were John Hartwell’s (W)right Wives? Massog 15 (1991): 2-3, featuring a nearly complete summary of the immigrant’s family.
