Sources

This lineage follows Craig Partridge, The English Origin of Edmund¹ Tapp of New Haven and Milford, Connecticut, American Genealogist 72 (1997): 65-80, 73 (1998): 65-72, the second installment of which consists of a lightly annotated transcript of the pleadings in a key suit in chancery. Partridge’s argument for assigning the records from Felmersham, Sherington, and Bennington to the same Edmund Tapp was somewhat speculative, but it has recently received additional support from Travis Dodge Miscia, “The Wheeler and the Spokes: The Wells–Tapp–Tuttle Kinship Network: Discussing the Immigrants Anne¹ (Wells) Wheeler, Edmund¹ Tapp, Elizabeth¹ (Herbert) Corwin, John¹ Herbert, Richard¹ Tuttle, John¹ Tuttle, and William¹ Tuttle,” New England Historical and Genealogical Register 177 (2023): 197-224, esp. 202-4.
