The most recent treatment of Humphrey’s biography is Ian Watson, The Great Migration, 1636–1638, vol. 1 (Boston: New England Historic Genealogical Society, 2024), 222-35. As is characteristic in this series, Watson does not provide a complete chronological treatment of William’s children, whose birth order Watson undertakes to revise from earlier publications. Watson also disputes previously proposed identifications of the parents of both Humphrey and his wife.
